Ford Performance Racing team principal Tim Edwards says that Will Davison’s experience and pedigree will be the perfect addition to the factory Ford outfit.
Speaking at today’s announcement of Davison’s place in the team, Edwards says that Davison was the man they targeted for its move towards the front of the field.
“Will comes to us with tremendous experience,” Edwards said of the new #6 Trading Post Racing Ford Falcon driver.
“He achieved a great deal on the international scene before coming back to Australia and no-one can question what he achieved at his previous team in 2009.
“Most importantly, he brings an ‘outside’ perspective to the team which we will all benefit from. He’s the guy we targeted for this role and we’re delighted to welcome him on board.”
Edwards also spoke about the car’s new primary, Telstra subsidiary Trading Post.
Trading Post introduced to the sport last year through Brad Jones Racing, switching this year to FPR.
“Trading Post has made a major, long-term investment in a partnership with FPR, after ‘testing the waters’ in 2010,” Edwards explained.
“The whole organisation is very serious about and committed to this investment, and the leverage they have planned is very exciting, it’s going to be a great partnership and I have no doubt that in Will, they have the right guy to represent their business.”
